Another thing to consider before getting a blood is temperature and humidity requirements. to much or to little and you have a sick or dead snake. ok other members feel free to tell me if i left anything out or gave misinformation.... lol ![]() btw its still awesome that your taking the time to research an animal before jumping in. dont know how many snake's i see posted on craigslist.com due to owners not having there facts straight. RE: just lookin - Sam Bearden - 06-09-2009 12:36 AM Like I said in the other thread I think a blood is a great in between snake. You have the nature of the burms(nippy baby/lazy adult) plus the bad day every once in awhile of a burm but in a not so big package. Bloods to me are like a smaller burm they eat like a burm only not as often and they don't take up near as much room. And in my opinion if you work with them they will be just as sweet as can be. Take Mia our largest she was the nastiest thing I had ever seen when we first got her and now she is sweet as any burm I have had. Jewels she is the same way she was nasty and now a year later and nothing but a big baby. Uma is a good girl and has been since we got her Butch needs a little more work but he is still young and Raquel is all show she huffs and puffs but does not follow through she is just bluffing. As I said before and has been stated in this thread to Hats off to you man for not diving in head first... There are tons of posts in the blood picture section to show you how many different colors and morphs there are... Husbandry wise their not a difficult animal, They differ most in regards to shedding, with their triangular shape, prominant backbone and unmatched mass/girth shedding can be difficult..This is easily fixed with a wet hide box or wetting right after the blue lube has faded from them.. Next you say Bloods, theres also the short tails P Brietensteini (our Favorite) and the Sumatran Blacks P Curtus..The 2 short tails are more placid then the bloods and are a good choice for someone with less space or a bad back,lol..No doubt I'll catch flack for this but i look forward to the day when the short tails push aside the bigger animals.. |
